Main Locations

We’ll be welcoming you in Saarbrücken, the capital of Saarland (one of the 16 federal states of Germany). Saarbrücken is not only Saarland's administrative and commercial center, but it also offers a large variety of nature and cultural activities.

To facilitate your trip planning, we present the main locations of the days around our wedding. For a detailed overview of when we plan to be where, please check the schedule.

Standesamt (City Hall) This is where the official ceremony takes place.
The St. Johann city hall is the largest neo-Gothic secular building in Saarland. It hosts the so-called “Standesamt” where wedding ceremonies are performed in the festival hall.
The festive hall itself, with its two-storey construction and impressive murals documenting scenes from the city's history, as well as its stained glass windows, offers a very special atmosphere. If you are curious, check out some photos here.

Saarbrücken Castle
We are extremely excited to welcome you for your wedding reception and party in the historic Saarbrücken Castle. We will be celebrating in the lofty ballroom.

Our place
We are also happy to welcome you at our place, for example, for the brunch on Friday, August 23rd, after the wedding party.

International Travel

Arriving in Saarbrücken
If you are planning to come by plane, there are two main options:

1) Fly to Frankfurt Airport FRA:
From Frankfurt airport, you can take a regional train RE3 from “Frankfurt(Main)Flugh” to “Saarbrücken Hbf” (tickets and schedules here, or example search here).

2) Fly to Luxemburg Airport LUX:
From Luxemburg airport, you can first take a bus to Gare de Luxembourg (Luxembourg main train station). Public transport in Luxembourg is free, so just mount the bus at the airport. Then, from Gare de Luxembourg, there is a direct bus to Saarbrücken Hbf which operates roughly every 1.5 hours. Tickets can be purchased online. in the CLF International app, in cash with the bus driver, or in cash or by credit card inside the train station. They are 5€ per way.

Alternatively, for both options, but especially from Frankfurt, it might as well make sense to rent a car and get to Saarbrücken.
