Arriving in Saarbrücken
If you are planning to come by plane, there are two main options:
1)
Fly to Frankfurt Airport FRA:
From Frankfurt airport, you can take a regional train RE3 from “Frankfurt(Main)Flugh”
to “Saarbrücken Hbf” (tickets and schedules
here,
or example search
here).
2)
Fly to Luxemburg Airport LUX:
From Luxemburg airport, you can first take a bus to
Gare de Luxembourg
(
Luxembourg main train station).
Public transport in Luxembourg is free, so just mount the bus at the airport.
Then, from Gare de Luxembourg, there is a direct bus to Saarbrücken Hbf which operates roughly every 1.5 hours.
Tickets can be purchased
online.
in the CLF International app, in cash with the bus driver, or in cash or by credit card inside the train station.
They are 5€ per way.
Alternatively, for both options, but especially from Frankfurt, it might as well make sense to rent a car and get to Saarbrücken.
